AutoCal V3 VIN License
EFi Live AutoCal customers may purchase additional VIN licenses to tune additional ECMs. Your AutoCal is pre-configured with and ships with one VIN license.
Tuner Depot can increase the maximum VIN slot limit capacity on your device, so additional VIN licenses can be purchased and activated.
Please Note: Your VIN license slot limit MUST be increased prior to Serial and Auth Code validation.
Step-by-Step Guide to Increase VIN Slots on AutoCal
Step 1: Ensure Firmware Compatibility:
Your AutoCal device must be running on firmware version V3.00.028 or later. Check your device's firmware version to ensure compatibility.
Step 2: Connect Your Device:
Connect your AutoCal device to your PC using the USB cable provided with your device.
Step 3: Activate Codes:
Once you receive the "Activation Codes" via email, highlight all four lines of these codes.
Right-click on the highlighted text and select "Copy".
Step 4: Launch EFILive Software:
Start the EFILive V8 Scan and Tune software on your PC. This software is essential for managing your AutoCal device's functionalities.
Step 5: Access Licenses Tab:
In the EFILive V8 software, select the [F7: Licenses] tab. Within that tab select the [F5: Convert] tab. This tab allows you to manage various licenses associated with your AutoCal device.
Step 6: Paste Activation Codes:
Click the [Paste] button in the [F5: Convert] tab. This action will paste the copied activation codes into the software.
Step 7: Convert Codes:
After pasting the activation codes, click the [Convert] button. This process will convert the codes for use with your AutoCal device.
Now when you go to the [F3: VINs] Tab you should notice there are additional VIN slots available.
Step 8: Purchase Additional Vin Licenses
To ensure EFi delivers the additional VIN Licenses to you quickly, they will need to validate your AutoCal Serial Number and Auth Code before you can place your order.

Now, you can purchase additional VIN licenses for your AutoCal. This is done through EFI Live’s website or store. Upon completion of your order, EFI Live will send you an email with the VIN License Activation codes.
Ensure you Copy The Activation Code for the new License
Step 9: Activate your Additional Vin Licenses:
- After receiving the VIN License Activation codes, connect your AutoCal device to your PC again.
- Open the EFILive V8 Scan and Tune software.
- Navigate to the [F7: Licenses] and then to the [F3: VINs] section.
- Here, paste the Activation Code and enter the number of Licenses provided in your email.
- Finally, select [Activate VIN License].
- This will add the new licenses to your AutoCal device.
